#WhyTheY By: Jamie Saunders

The YMCA MGA experience is one that is enjoyed by many. MGA is an opportunity for students all over Virginia to come together and explore Downtown Richmond. The opportunity is unique for students, advisors, and coordinators. MGA has many different responsibilities which are distributed among a broad group of students. The students who attend each have different stories and journeys which led them to the magnificent experience called MGA.

Davis Roberts (Brunswick) “I decided to attend MGA because my dad attended when he was in high school and ran for many important positions. I want to follow in his footsteps and make him proud.”

Joseph Kennedy (Radford) “I decided to attend MGA because it will look good on college resumes.” William Mitchell (Radford) “I wanted to be a part of MGA because it was time to spend with my friends and would look good for college.”

Tyler Thomas (Fuqua) “I decided to attend MGA because I wanted to further my knowledge on the Virginia legislature and procedures.” Kyleigh Capps (Brunswick) “I decided to come to MGA because I am generally very shy. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and make new friends.”
